Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It centers around a high-stakes, competitive program designed to create Japan’s next world-class striker in soccer.

The story begins after Japan's humiliating loss in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Japanese Football Association, determined to revolutionize the country's soccer game, initiates the "Blue Lock" project. This program gathers 300 of the best young strikers in Japan and locks them in a high-security facility, where they will face intense training and competition to determine who will become the ultimate forward for the national team.

TThe protagonist, Yoichi Isagi, a former high school soccer player, is one of the 300 selected for Blue Lock. After a failed pass during an important game in high school, where Isagi's team lost, he is consumed by the desire to become the world's best striker. The program, led by the eccentric and ruthless coach Jinpachi Ego, focuses on pushing each participant to their absolute limits, emphasizing individual talent, ego, and the will to outshine others.

Throughout the series, Isagi and the other participants face various challenges and matches, forcing them to confront their weaknesses, develop new strategies, and ultimately fight for the chance to play in the World Cup.
